Regardless of increasingly more advanced communications tools, humans are becoming more and more lonely. The director captured this paradox showing characters in the New York subway. He decided to find out what stories are hidden behind each of the 21 selected faces. The result is a film essay about searching for the sense of existence and, at the same time, a hypnotic portrait of the city where various races, cultures and views meet although individual people become further and further removed from one another.
