Beautifully made, this animation of Anita Kwiatkowska-Naqvi includes a variety of meanings of the eponymous “locus”. The term is used to define the separate spaces of the child and the mother going to him as well as a reference to the genetic relationship between them. The characters, carved in ice, also ask about the “locus of control”, i.e. who bears responsibility for the events in the film: the woman herself or “others”, who are unaware of anything.
