Patriot

Hannah is being raised by a single father, in the family dominated by strong, male values. An 11-year-old girl is taught unconditional respect for her homeland and, at the same time, grows up in the spirit of extreme nationalism and hatred towards everything that is not English. When, as a result of an argument with her father, the girl escapes from home and meets a Gypsy boy who lives in a nearby settlement, everything she has been taught will be put to a test. With her film, Eva Riley draws attention to the extent to which convictions and prejudice may be immune to reality.
