Tabula Rasa
Tabula rasa is a story set in Romania, just after the collapse of Ceaușescu’s regime. The summer is sunny in a small town in Transylvania. Emma, who is 13, meets a boy called Abel, with whom she spends her summer holidays. This summer they experience an arising affection, probably the first one in their lives. Serenity will be disrupted by the past, which makes itself felt, and still very relevant history which ties the lives of their parents. Csoma’s film is a portrait of the society that relished freedom just after the political breakthrough.
