In the French suburbs, Adriana, Camille, Lou-Ann, Emily, Julie and Kevin are just some of the children that do not have or need toys. They play in the street and can truly be cruel to each other. Often, they observe passing cars in silence. They know what is death, rape and violence. In her conceptual documentary, Isabel Pagliai creates the portrait of the children who very quickly absorb adult models of behaviour. The film, whose title is a reference to a Renaissance poetess, deals with the issue of an unjust confrontation in families and social groups.
