The start of her leave is a test of character for Ania. Her return home, where the woman’s husband and little son are waiting, might be a joyous moment, but it becomes the moment of dismay and hesitance. The penitentiary believes in the progress of rehabilitation, but Anna has other plans: she wants to leave. Prior to that, acting on an impulse, she wants to find the Adamski family that are directly linked with her prison episode.
