The Ecstasy of Wilko Johnson

The Ecstasy of Wilko Johnson

In 2013, an English vocalist and guitarist once associated with Dr. Feelgood was diagnosed with late stage pancreatic cancer. But, defying the sentence passed on him, Johnson did not want to give up what he had successfully been doing for the past 40 years. This dynamic film, full of literary and film references, is, above all, a very personal portrait of the musician who decided to play the decisive game of chess with death, just like the knight from The Seventh Seal by Bergman.
