In this Polish version of Beatlemania, four students of a technical school who are fascinated with the British band decide to emulate its success in the local conditions. Rock-and-roll hits are intertwined with the hits of Filipinki, a Polish girls’ band, the pictures of the vicinity of the Buckingham palace are contrasted with the photographs of the Polish countryside and the dreams about a crazy career clash with the grey reality. Yesterday is a drama about entering adulthood, which may be extremely difficult, even if there is music in the background.
