Morgenrot

The Mazury Lake District in North-Eastern Poland is the crossing ground of the story of Polish-German relations, often within one family. A mother and son go back to the village that was once inhabited by their ancestors. Today, a dense forest grows in this place. On 20 January 1940 Russian troops marched through Małga wreaking havoc to the village. Among trees, moss and lush vegetation, the characters can find the ruins of buildings, fragments of everyday lives and memory scraps while discovering the dark secrets of their family, too.
