The film character works as a railway engine driver. The routine of his daily life taught him distance to others. In his orderly, boring world, however, some unexpected changes arise. When he takes in a dog knocked down by a car, he wins the interest of his new female neighbour. An accidental meeting may both serve as a rescue for two big city loners and a source of additional suffering. It is a lyrical story about the risk entailed by tenderness.
