The Origami Code

The Origami Code

The tradition of creating models from paper, developed over the centuries, has found application in various branches of science in the past two decades. May it become the cause of a technological revolution? Engineers and designers from three continents show how the principles of origami may be used in science and engineering. Folding has its source in nature and the evidence for it may be found not only in the worlds of plants and animals, but also in human anatomy, the structure of proteins and DNA. The Origami Code shows how almost any 3D object may be created from a single sheet of paper. By means of computer animation and practical shows in science labs, the film demonstrates extraordinary applications of the art of origami in a variety of fields of science.
