89 mm from Europe

89 mm from Europe

One of Marcel Łoziński’s best known documentaries which was also an Oscar nominee. 89 millimetres is the difference in the width between the train tracks in Europe and the former USSR countries. In Brest, a border town which is crossed by several dozen international trains every day, Belorussian workers change wheels under carriages day by day. Puzzled passengers from Western Europe observe what they do through the train windows.
