Young detectives, Lasse and Maya, find a mysterious chest with an even more mysterious letter in the cellar of a church. The chest, which belongs to the von Broms family, was lying there for 250 years. Soon, the descendants of Alexander von Broms, who hid the chest, come to Valleby and each of them claims their rights to the find. But the chest cannot be opened and, at the same time, valuable items go missing, eventually the chest itself is gone, too. Each of the van Broms seems to be the suspect. Will Lasse and Maya manage to solve this mystery?
