Grenoble

The Winter Olympic Games in Grenoble as seen by Claude Lelouch and François Reichenbach are about brutal hockey games, phenomenal ice-skating and toboggans sliding at a dizzying speed. The filmmakers also show the games from the inside: meal preparation, final warm-up of sportsmen, polishing the skis before the race or carving ice on a bobsleigh course. They portray both the sportsmen and the audience, which introduces a bit of humour to the solemn atmosphere of the games.
