She was born in 1985 in Jerusalem. She began her study at the Sam Spiegel Film & TV School, Jerusalem, in 2010, where she spent five years, focusing mainly on documentary directing and film editing. Her films have screened at many festivals, both locally and internationally. During her studies, Tamar acted as assistant editor to the American documentary filmmaker Susan Korda. Parallel to her study at Sam Spiegel, Tamar served as a lecturer at the Ono Academic College in Jerusalem. In 2015, she completed her graduation film The Mute's House.
