Romeo and Juliet

Romeo and Juliet

A Roma camp in the suburbs of Rome becomes the scenery for the contemporary version of Shakespeare’s tragedy. This is where the action of one of the most famous love stories is set. When the camera records the casting and rehearsals for “Romeo and Juliet”, reality and art unexpectedly start to blend. Past conflicts become revived in the families of young actors and the memories of the war in former Yugoslavia return. The result is a film about a film, made with tenderness.
