Margret and Helmut

Margret and Helmut

Helmut and Margaret are an aging but harmonious marriage. Margaret allows her husband to wear her sweater and patiently removes water from the pots of the flowers that Helmut so persistently continues to water. He has dementia, she wants to travel the world. In a poignant way, the director Clemens Beier portrays the relationship on which disease leaves its mark every day. Margaret and Helmut is a lesson in humility, acceptance and sacrifice for the other person. It is a film about the future that does not exist and the past that disappears with every minute.
