The cellist Yo-Yo Ma believes that music can join people who belong to very different cultures. Hence his project, the Silk Road Ensemble, which connects artists from the countries located along the route that once joined the Middle Kingdom with Europe. The band includes artists from Spain’s Galicia, Turkey, Syria, Iran or China. The journey made together also serves as an opportunity to have a closer look at the countries where wars are being waged or human rights broken.
