What do Polish housewives talk about? About the price of oranges in a local shop, about what they saw on television yesterday, sometimes about their problems, but most readily about the problems of their neighbours. The eponymous “hens” are two typical Polish mothers who exchange everyday gossip while having a smoke. Their funny discussions reflect neighbourly relations in a distorting mirror revealing, at the same time, the hypocrisy of the two protagonists.
